Am I eligible to participate in the surplus property program?
Customers eligible to participate in the surplus property program include state and local governments, eligible non-profit organizations providing health, educational, or homeless services, and small businesses working with the Small Business Administration. For specific eligibility requirements, you can contact DOAS Surplus eligibility personnel at 770-414-6468 or download the information and forms from our Web site. Property is available to the general public through internet sales.

Where can I obtain surplus property?
Surplus property is located on the website.  Under the "How do I" header, please select either the "Locate property for Public Bid" or the "Locate property for eligible Donee" option.  Surplus Customer Service is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You can call 770-414-6468, 229-931-2407, or 478-289-2623 to inquire about purchasing property.

As an eligible program participating, what types of property can I obtain from DOAS Surplus Property?
Any property that state and federal governments designate as surplus property is available. Common types of property include office furniture, computer equipment, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment. DOAS Surplus Property will also assist with the location and acquisition of non-traditional surplus property items.

What fees are there for purchasing surplus property?
Service charges are assessed for property distributed to local governments, non-profit organizations, and small businesses. There are also nominal fees assessed for federally funded property. Fees vary by property type and condition.

What opportunities are available to the general public?
Sales to the public are conducted through commercial internet service providers.
